SUMMARY

SEH is the world leader in semiconductor silicon products, and SEH America ships silicon wafers throughout the world. The Specification Technician converts semiconductor customer requirements for silicon wafers into SEH internal requirements, including the process flow, recipes, dimensional and cleanliness requirements, packaging, labeling and shipping. It requires a detailed knowledge of customer and SEH internal processes. The position involves frequent communication with leading edge semiconductor customers, SEH sales and applications engineers, and SEH internal production personnel.

JOB DUTIES

  • Act as liaison with Engineering and Production departments and other company personnel regarding interpretation of product specifications and component requirements.

  • Enter technical specifications for finished products and/or materials within the Specification Management system as directed.

  • Enter manufacturing standards data for finished goods as directed.

  • Complete timely modifications of finished product and material specifications as directed.

  • Generate specification reports and route for approval within the Specification Management system.

  • Work with data and input from a variety of sources to compile information into complex part and assembly specifications.

  • Review and validate the specification information for accuracy to avoid discrepancies, redundancies, errors or omissions.

  • Communicate any problems or inconsistencies with the project manager, product developer or other team member for resolution prior to routing for approval.

  • Follow up with various workflow approvers and expedite process when necessary.

  • Execute multiple projects concurrently and efficiently. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree in STEM discipline. Will consider a combination of a combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Strong math skills (good arithmetic, knowledge of basic geometry and basics of significant digits / rounding, scientific notation).

  • Basic statistics (means, sigma, standard deviation, CpK).

  • Excellent organization skills (ability to handle multiple tasks at one time).

  • Excellent written communication skills.

  • Experience w/ MS Excel (frequent use of spreadsheets to track progress and communicate information).

  • Excellent verbal communication skills (must effectively communicate spec information in meetings and by phone to production supervisors and engineers).

DESIRED SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE

  • Cultural awareness (experience and ability to work with other cultures throughout the world).

  • Japanese and/or Chinese language skills helpful.

  • Science / Engineering education (any formal education in a basic science or engineering discipline is a plus).

  • Computer programming experience is ideal (advanced spec writer involves basic programming).

  • Experience in a semiconductor related industry preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to read, comprehend, and execute complex documents. Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods of time. Frequent sitting for long intervals.
