Position Description

At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Specification Sales Consultant to join the Wiremold Team in San Francisco, CA. To establish, grow, and maintain a strong presence within the specification and contractor communities. This is accomplished by educating and informing all stakeholders on the value of the complete electrical and data communication infrastructures, and securing projects. The successful candidate is accountable for meeting and exceeding territory quota.

What Will You Do?
1.Write and secure LNA Product spec at key specification influences
2.Establish relationships at A & E Firms

  • Design Assistance

  • Implementing Legrand Master Spec

  • Continuing Education Seminars
    3.Establish relationships with key stakeholders at electrical contractors.

  • Design Assistance

  • Legrand Solution Training

  • Project Management
    4.Establish relationships with major End Users.
    5.Collaborate with entire sales force within the Legrand family
    6.Support local sales team in their efforts at targeted distribution partners. This may include assistance with business reviews, training, and trade shows.
    7.Maximize the sales tools, including daily Usage of CRM Tool. Fully understand and utilize training and materials provided to support sales activities. Optimize time and territory management.
    8.Performs other similar and related duties as required.


Required Skills


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent construction industry experience. Must have completed two of the CSI, CDT and LEED Green Associate certifications.


  • 3 years of sales and/or marketing excellence or 7 years experience in the electrical/communications/construction industry


  • Able to assist with the creation of specification documents including engineering drawings and submittals. Perform engineering and budgetary analysis including specification writing and take-off assistance. Partner with sales team for complete market penetration.

  • Must be proficient in negotiation and influencing skills. Able to creatively demonstrate new product concepts to utilize professional selling skills. Lead construction project teams through the selling process.

  • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in one-on-one or group presentation situations. Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers and industry contacts.

The Sales Consultant has front-line responsibility for developing and fostering new surgeon and account-level relationships within a geographic territory. Sales Consultants are primarily responsible for the conversion of prospect surgeons/accounts and penetration of existing customers through incremental sales, managing a book of business. The Sales Consultant will drive sales by understanding customers' needs, then developing and executing a sales strategy that fulfills those needs. Responsibilities include: * Prospecting and Planning: Identify and qualify prospective surgeons and accounts. Develop and execute account or surgeon-specific plans and selling strategies to grow sales and convert new business. * Achieves Business Plan objectives including territory and new product quotas through meeting growth objectives * Product Sales: Drive product sales for all assigned products within an assigned territory or set of named accounts. Uses product and customer knowledge to present, demonstrate, and ensure proper utilization of products * Customer Relationships: Gain access to the right surgeons and buyer points within an account. Build effective customer relations with key surgeons, operating room personnel and other pertinent hospital personnel. * Case Coverage: Maintain appropriate surgeon/resident contact with all prospects or newly converted customers. Routinely provide support to surgeons and OR personnel during surgical cases * Customer Care: Strive to improve patient care. Service customer as a problem solver and maintain excellent response time and follow-up. Routinely educate Surgeons, OR and Central Supply Personnel through in-services and workshops * Inventory Management: Maintain sales equipment and promotional materials in proper condition and uses them to support territory efforts * Handle competitive threats with appropriate sense of urgency * Actively promote new or special emphasis products and strategic selling objectives * Implement plans to achieve a balanced product sales mix in assigned territory This position requires extensive travel within territory with the possibility of weekend work and/or limited overnight travel.
