Job Summary
Accountable for the coordination of the Minor Procedure Suite specialty which includes fiscal responsibility and specified activities within Hematology/ Oncology service Lines. Supports and upholds quality standards of a Magnet designated hospital and Patient Bill of Rights. Provides compassionate and family center care for the Minor Procedure Suite patients and families.
Job Specific Duties
Accountable for the coordination of specialty which includes fiscal responsibility and specified activities within service.
Provides leadership for the provision of quality patient care in accordance with the hospital's mission,goals and philosophy.
Assists the Nurse Manager with training and onboarding support of staff and ensures clinical competency skills and requirements.
Collaborates with the Nurse Manager to provide peer review feedback on skills, knowledge and MCHS Values & Guiding Behaviors.
Supports the Nurse Manager with staff coaching, and performance improvement discussions.
Collaborates with other departments including 6 Tower, Infusion unit, Hem/Onc clinic and Hem/Onc providers.
Acts as a resource and provides support to the OR when needed.
Participates in the PI council, collaborates with the medical staff, nursing and leadership on performance initiatives.
Responds and provides direction in planning, organizing, delegating and coordinating unit related activities as well as specialty service activities.
Participates in and promotes evidence-based clinical and quality practice in the Minor Procedure Suite and shares knowledge with stakeholders and clinical and medical staff.
Participates in the budgetary process and cost containment issues.
Minimum Job Requirements
RN - Registered Nurse RN Licensure within the State of Florida or Multi-State Enhanced Nursing License Compact (eNLC) - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
2-4 years Pediatric RN experience
2-4 years Minor Procedure Suite RN experience
Chemotherapy certification preferred, to be completed within 6 months of hire and in good standing throughout employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
BSN Degree or currently enrolled in BSN program
Certification in CNOR or CPN preferred
Able to problem solve, formulate a plan of care and evaluate patient's response to care
Able to relate cooperatively & constructively with patients, families and co-workers
Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Able to analyze and interpret data, utilizing the information to make judgments regarding patient care
Able to adapt to and react calmly under stressful conditions
Strong problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and strong time management skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Computer literate
Ability to apply principles of evidenced-based practice, analytical thinking and service excellence in practice
