JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE Working under the supervision of the pharmacist, assists with the seamless procurement of prescribed specialty medications for patients. Works in partnership with clinic staff in identifying patient needs. Coordinates specialty medication pre-authorization requests from insurance companies. Confirms patients have received medications from the specialty pharmacy and records all medication procurement data in electronic medical record. Manages and completes medication assistance applications for patients as required by drug manufacturers. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Samaritan Specialty Pharmacy serves the specialty drug needs for patients in the Mid-Willamette Valley and Central Oregon Coast. We have an experienced and dedicated team of clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and advocates who work directly with specialist physicians and clinics. Our pharmacy#s mission is to provide patients convenient and affordable access to specialty drugs as well as ongoing monitoring and medication management support. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor#s degree preferred. One (1) of the following required: Current unencumbered Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician License. One (1) year experience in retail pharmacy, prior authorization, financial assistance, billing and/or care coordination in a healthcare setting. Experience in a physician clinic setting with medication assistance duties preferred. All job offers are contingent upon the candidate passing a pre-employment/post offer drug screen.
