SPECIALTY GASES OPERATOR

ROLE/ JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and monitoring of all the loading processes

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor and operate process equipment by following written procedures to ensure personal safety and product quality

  • Operate MES control system involving all aspects of unit operation

  • Operate and maintain analytical instruments and equipment

  • Communicate with Silane Operations to Monitor chemical inventories and maintain them at acceptable levels

  • Troubleshoot and prepare equipment for maintenance

  • Documenting and reporting of analytical data

  • Clean and maintain equipment and work area

  • Report process safety incidents and near misses

  • Successful completion and maintenance of the company Specialty Gases Operator certification within the designated time frame:

  • Over head Crane

  • Module Mover

  • Module/ Cylinder/Tonner Loading

  • DCS/MCS Cylinder/Tonner

  • Fork Truck

  • Emergency Squad Certification

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) to three (3) years related experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Basic computer skills including functionality in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

  • Must be a team player and supportive and cooperative of management and corporate initiatives

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to pass E-squad physical annually and average aerobic capacity is required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. Ladders and stairs are climbed frequently and must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Personal protective safety equipment, including respirators, hearing and eye protection, bunker gear (boots, pants, coats and gloves) and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) are required to be used. Heavy lifting and carrying of victims may be necessary in case of an emergency. In this situation, the E-Squad member would carry a victim on a stretcher with a co-worker. E-Squad member must be able to control and extinguish fires, to protect life and property, by handling hoses to direct water or chemicals onto fire and is qualified to administer first aid and CPR to injured persons and individuals overcome by fire and smoke. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, such as wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold or extreme hot. The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
