About the Role
Provides comprehensive technical support to all other technical positions within the division. Accountable for developing, administrating, and presenting comprehensive technical training to both field and in-house service employees on all existing and future contracted products sold by Canon Solutions America. This includes all Canon digital and Multi-functional products as well as any third party identified products (i.e. HP, Fiery, etc.). Actively participates in the Technical Help Desk operations within the department.
Your Impact
Provides comprehensive technical phone support for all field service staff, internal and external customers as required.
Researches, resolves, and documents unusual technical problems or difficulties through the use of Oracle and Canon Solutions America current helpdesk software, and Canon On-line tools (ie: eSupport,Navi, etc.).
Distributes and/or updates technical information and publications to technical staff. As required, performs supplemental meetings to clarify pertinent issues.
Maintains and ensure all technical reference material (i.e. Tech Pubs, FYIs, SMBs, etc.) is current, in an appropriate manner whereas to facilitate quick and easy access.
Occasionally performs site visits to determine and/or resolve complex technical problems.
Evaluates and provides comprehensive reporting on both new and existing product performance and provide recommendations on any specialized training requirements, required manufacturer updates/modifications, or other necessary steps as required.
Participates and contributes in the Canon Solutions America Technical Information Sessions. This direct involvement will provide the technical group with the latest technical information available on Canon products and future direction.
Maintains established training inventory, class materials, and supplies to ensure the effectiveness and productivity of all training sessions.
Communicates on all levels regarding the solution of technical difficulties both within Canon Solutions America and Canon USA.
About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 3 to 5 years of related experience.
Degree in Electronics or equivalent training in Military/Trade School.
Technician demonstration experience.
Technical proficiency within the company or the imaging industry.
Required to take all necessary steps to obtain security and/or other clearances required by customers to enter the customers' premises.
Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
Canon Technical Training Course Certifications for products related to the IR /IRC/IP/CLC product line.
