Job Title: Specialist, Space Planning

Location: Store Support Center

Position OverviewThe specialist, space planning, will have a significant impact on the efficiency of the department and company stores by ensuring that space planning item data is accurate and maintained. This role is responsible for researching and resolving planogram and store item authorization issues ("SIA") and will work closely with the planogram team to ensure planogram assignments are accurate. In addition, this role is responsible for reviewing, researching and analyzing planogram change requests from district directors and store leadership to ensure they will not have a negative financial impact.Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Research, analyze and resolve planogram and SIA issues.

  • Review and approve planogram change requests from district directors and store leadership based on analysis of sales data to ensure requested changes will not have a negative financial impact.

  • Oversee the vendor responsible for data entry and capturing new item attributes to ensure accuracy.

  • Work with the manager, planogram, to identify necessary planogram changes and ensure items are updated in the database including identifying planograms no longer being used and purge them from the system.

  • Work with the analyst, merchandising layout, to ensure that planograms for remodels and resets are accurately assigned to SIA and reflect the merchandising layout.

  • Work with the vendors to manage the process of assigning store planograms.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


  • Associate's degree in related field and two (2) years related retail or analytical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrated strong PC skills including working knowledge and proficiency with the primary Microsoft Office applications and Hyperion.

  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures.

  • Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.

  • Ability to understand and follow English instructions.

  • Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.

  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.

The Global Strategic Demand Planning Analyst is responsible for managing, building, evaluating, and recommending the demand forecast of assigned segments. You will have specialized knowledge of forecasting methodologies, statistical modeling and supply chain practices serving as a forecasting leader in the Global Demand Planning organization. You will use systems and tools to improve forecast performance by implementing and executing processes including demand segmentation strategies, Enterprise Planning Excellence insights, and industry standard methodologies. In this position, the individual will lead the generation and tuning of statistical based forecasts for a portfolio coving the market, pack size and/or SKU across the short and long term horizon. These forecasts will be a key enabler to our Global, Regional and Country level demand Integrated Business Processes. This role will partner closely and have strong collaboration with Global & Regional Demand S&OP Leaders including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product Management, and other cross-functional teams incorporating business intelligence and forecast information captured from sources to support facilitation and communication of forecast and forecast insights, including demand analytics, rationale for monthly forecast changes, demand handover, and forecast accuracy performance. * Develop Core Business and New Product forecasts in partnership with end to end partners * Run and tune statistical forecasts incorporating life cycle and macro-economic trends * Evaluate and review past performance, recommend changes to exception parameters to optimize forecast * Incorporate the review of historical, geographic, market, and competitors' statistical trends and presents recommended forecast plans to minimize risk and right size inventories * Capture and understand the market intelligence, customer/account level forecast, promotional activity, seasonality and other external factors that impact demand * Support the development, implementation, and reporting of analytical methodologies, processes and forecasting systems for marketed and pipeline products to improve forecast quality * Articulate global demand and/or supply strategies and recommendations with business and functional implications in presentations to individuals at all levels of the organization, as needed. Qualifications * A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, a focused degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Market Research, Computer Science/ CIS, or Finance or related field is preferred * An Advanced Degree is preferred * A minimum of four (4) years of experience in Supply Chain, Finance, BI, Data Analytics, Engineering, Marketing or related field is required * Experience with ERP Systems (JDA / Manugistics / SAP / APO / SNP) and/or Statistical forecasting tools and processes such as Advanced Analytics Software (Tableau, At-Risk, Forecast X, Crystal Ball, etc.) is required * Ability to manage & manipulate large amounts of data & convert to clear business information is required * Ability to influence others (including senior leaders) in a matrix / cross-functional environment is highly preferred * Ability to share knowledge and coach others is preferred * Ability to build strong collaborative relationships, considering diverse perspectives and styles is preferred * Ability to target their communications as appropriate for the audience and make presentations to a small to medium sized audience is preferred * Strong organizational skills and aptitude for planning is preferred * Ability to challenge the status quo and evaluate processes by leveraging an understanding of the current market and inventory strategies is preferred * Able to thrive in a dynamic environment by driving new concepts while maintaining flexibility is preferred * Certifications including APICS, LEAN and/or Six Sigma are preferred * Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, domestic and/or international is required Johnson & Johnson is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
