It is the primary responsibility of the Specialist Social Group Sales and Services to provide excellent customer service in the selling of hotel, entertainment, and group dining needs. The position will up-sell and cross-sell property amenities to guests for MGM Resorts International. The position will cater to groups that are coming to MGM Resorts International properties to celebrate special occasions with larger parties. The Specialist will be responsible for detailing every aspect of a group booking, coordinating the details within each department, and being the point person for group leaders. Responsibilities will also include meeting specific revenue and operational sales goals in accordance with the department's standards. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts International policies, practices and procedures.

Responsible for up-sell and cross-sell property amenities to guests company wide.
Detail every aspect of a social group booking, coordinate the details within each department and act as point person for the group leader.
Greet, interact, and assist guests in a professional manner upon arrival as well as prior to events.
Professionally represent the company, department, and staff during pre arrival site tours and meet and greets.
Facilitate and execute contracts, deposit collection, and settlements.
Plan social group trips from start to finish according to requirements, target audience, suggestions, and objectives to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Coordinate, process, and confirm room, show ticket, restaurant, nightclub, or any reservations the guest requests in accordance with departmental standards.
Ensure event group reservations for room, show, restaurant, nightlife, and transportation are completed smoothly and effectively.
Communicate with group leaders during group planning cycle-often over extended periods of time to ensure expectations are exceeded.
Maintain knowledge of all property venues including room, restaurants, spa and entertainment information.
Handle and follow through with all guest correspondence/complaints via phone, e-mail, web or any other medium on a same day basis.
Work closely with property Group Dining and F&B teams to ensure proper event execution.
Achieve and maintain monthly individual and team revenue goals.
Perform other job related duties as requested.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
At least 1 year of work experience within a relevant field.
Working knowledge of the Hotel Industry.
Working knowledge of Microsoft office.
Basic office equipment knowledge including copiers, printers, faxes and telephones.
Excellent customer service skills.
Able to lead and mentor a team.
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Previous experience in Operational Sales, Concierge, or Group Dining.
Bilingual, English as the primary or secondary.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting
