The Division Mechanical Specialist is responsible for:

  • The support of mechanical operations as it applies to daily activities and associated projects for assigned locations within the Division.

  • Division assets the Mechanical Specialist will be responsible for include, but not limited to: Slow speed integral reciprocating compressors, Gas turbines with centrifugal compressor, High speed separable reciprocating compressors, Electric motor driven centrifugal compressors and Electric motor driven centrifugal pumps.

  • The Mechanical Specialist's responsibilities include technical support, training, project development and execution, O&M and Capital budget support and management, as well as support of corporate initiatives/projects.

  • The Mechanical Specialist also works with operation locations to provide support for maintaining compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements related to emissions testing, overhaul management, as well as response and support of mechanical related emergencies.

The Division Mechanical Specialist reports to the Director of Technical Operations.

  • Basic Education with specialized course work or training in physical sciences, mathematics, mechanical technology, and personnel management.

  • Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of four years of experience in gas compression mechanical related operations. Candidate expected to have operation, maintenance and administrative experience. Effective written & verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative environment.

  • Candidate must be a self-starter, have good organization skills, and be able to accept constantly changing priorities. Willingness to work in an environment where compensation is tied to performance and skill level.

  • The Division Mechanical Specialist is required to live within 45 minutes of the reporting location.

  • Incumbent is subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and extended work-days and/or work-weeks.

  • Required to carry a cell phone, and is subject to 24-hour/day callout at any time for emergency response.

Position requires the ability to travel and may be extensive, at times. Candidate must have a proven safe driving record. Position will be filled at level consummate with applicable experience.

Preferred Skills

Candidate should possess working computer skills in Microsoft applications, EAM, Engine Reliability, SAP and Apttus. Previous experience in conducting group training sessions is a plus. Previous experience working with and maintaining high speed Caterpillar/aerial gas compressor packages a plus. Should be a good communicator and work planner with excellent work ethics.

Job Description Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines. Stress analyst capable of performing static analysis for repairs to aircraft structure. Perform mostly hand calculations using applied loads or equivalent strength methods to determine repair margins of safety. Experience generating spring models, lug analysis, beam analysis et. Al. Ability to compile analytical results into a report format for customer review and approval. Provide technical guidance to liaison engineers in the design and substantiation of aircraft structural repair.
