As a Payroll Specialist at Golden LivingCenters, you'll work closely with leadership in many different departments, providing meaningful and vital support. Your administrative and clerical work will meaningfully support a variety of office functions and help to ensure smooth and efficient operations. All this you'll do with a smile to help promote positive relationships with residents, visitors and regulators. That's because you know your expansive work as a Payroll Specialist will facilitate our mission of providing an extraordinary experience for our patients and delivering the highest quality care.

GENERAL PURPOSE

Assists in the administration of payroll tasks performed at the location, including but not limited to general payroll questions of time and attendance, assists with form completion, helps to maintain personnel records.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Calculates earnings from timesheets or individual timecards and posts calculated data on payroll sheets. May assist in preparing and distributing paychecks.

  • Calculates and posts employee earnings including overtime

  • Calculates vacation and sick pay

  • Process individual salary rate adjustments or other changes affecting employee payroll status including new hires, transfers, layoffs, terminations, paid or unpaid leaves of absence and related actions

  • Maintains required payroll files and records

  • May consist of making entries, updating, and maintaining employee records within the PeopleSoft system

CODE OF CONDUCT

Must adhere to the Company's Code of Conduct and Business Ethics policy including documentation and reporting responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an office environment

  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND BEHAVIORS

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Basic understanding Microsoft Office including Excel and Word as well as mainframe computer systems

  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with patients, families, and other employees at all levels

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding patient, employee and company proprietary information

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

Mobility, reaching, bending, lifting (minimum of 10 pounds), fine hand coordination, ability to read and write, the ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions, ability to travel, and ability to remain calm under pressure
