General Summary.

The Outbound Product Workflow Specialist is responsible for maintaining and improving product workflow by analyzing and developing logistics plans that affect production, distribution and inventory. Creates and reviews procedures for distribution and inventory management to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost. Ensures the continuous flow of product from the vendors to the customer as it pertains to inbound and outbound functions of the business. This position is responsible for enhancing order workflow by analyzing, developing and implementing logistic plans that affect distribution and inventory utilizing the Warehouse Management System. The role is also responsible for managing outbound volume demands by balancing teammate capacity and customer orders.

This position will be responsible for..

  • Monitors and assesses Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to determine when orders waved to maximize workforce efficiencies against outbound volume demands.

  • Identifies and resolves inefficiencies in workflow between inbound and outbound shipments. Resolves planning concerns by determining root cause and expedite corrective action.

  • Ensure that complete and accurate information is communicated to teams responsible for completing the work. Build a sense of commitment throughout the business and works cooperatively with business leaders to continually improve customer satisfaction.

  • Utilizes warehouse management system to analyze and systematically plan orders in accordance with the planning schedule.

  • Prioritizing and monitoring the daily workload to ensure works completed timely and customer requirements met.

  • Maintain all records relative to inbound and outbound deliveries and develop strategy to resolve discrepancies.

  • Responsible for planning out work to be completed each shift by compiling shipment orders into workable "wave groups" for the slot analysts

  • Scheduling of all outbound orders in company systems.

  • Coordinate order processing with all appropriate systems and personnel.

  • Directing the flow of vessels between the yard and dock doors.

  • Performing other duties as required by the supervisor or manager. Wave planners need to have a strong understanding of warehouse flow and operations

  • Effectively communicates with outbound supervisors

  • Strong written communication skills to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions and Visual aids for the teammates operating the warehouse

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of WMS wave planning software is needed to evaluate issues and to maximize efficiency

  • Provide feedback to supervisors on issue impacting work flow

  • Strong understanding of sorter control software

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, including working in a startup atmosphere

  • Actively engage in problem solving, proactively inserting themselves into the problem to find a solution

  • Solve work flow issue using knowledge of all DC operations

  • Effectively communicates issues and directions to associates

  • Evaluates work processes for efficiency

  • Investigates and resolves work flow issues

  • Follows all safety guidelines and performs in a safe and careful manner.

  • Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of experience in manufacturing, distribution warehousing and supply chain logistics. Manhattan preferred.

  • Three (3) years of experience in a distribution center environment preferred.

  • Strong operational knowledge and understanding of Warehouse Management Systems.

  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Customer service driven.

  • Strong team player.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, work instructions, process maps and/or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
