Who Are We Looking For?

As a Communications Specialist, you will support internal and external communications for Nasdaq's Investment Intelligence (II) business, which is the leading source of market data, global indexes, investment data and analytics and fund secondaries. You will provide communications support for the entire II portfolio of businesses with the opportunity to eventually own day-to-day strategy and execution for a selection of businesses within the portfolio with oversight. You will work with the II team and internal stakeholders to support major business initiatives across North America and opportunistically in key growth areas including LATAM, EMEA and APAC.

Your role will be to execute high-impact and measurable integrated communications campaigns and initiatives that advance and protect Nasdaq's brand, elevate its leadership, and that tie back to commercial objectives. The role demands regularly placing Nasdaq leadership in high-profile data, index, analytics and secondaries stories, in addition to excellent writing, communication, presentation and relationship management skills. You are a team player, work well under pressure and can handle multiple priorities at once.

You will report to the Senior Director, Investment Intelligence Communications.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key partner for the II business across data, indexes, analytics and secondaries

  • Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets and journalists covering our space

  • Manage media strategies and rollouts for campaigns featuring our solutions

  • Comfortable pitching to and managing a diverse and expansive set of clients and media outlets

  • Keep abreast of company developments and trends

  • Create communications materials including plans, thought leadership content, pitches, etc.

  • Collaborate with II subject matter experts, marketing and social teams as well as external clients

  • Provide strategic counsel to the II business leaders

  • Maintain timelines and trackers and prepare media coverage reports as needed

Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public affairs, journalism, or a related field

  • 4-8 years of media relations experience in the asset management and investment space

  • Excellent communication, presentation, relationship management, and writing skills

  • Proven record of managing multiple and diverse clients and multitasking campaigns

  • Ability to pivot quickly to changing priorities, urgent leadership needs and brand challenges

  • Self-starter with the confidence and ability to tackle new initiatives with little guidance

  • Experience at a public relations agency is desired, but not a requirement

The base pay range for this role is $70,200 - $117,000. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, business needs and market demands.
