The Specialist will support a redesigned alternative certification office within Human Capital

Management. Specialists will oversee all alternative certification-related operations and logistics,

including internal/external communications, logistics for trainings and other events/projects, applicant

processing and enrollment logistics. This role will play an important function in supporting the goals of all teams within the alternative certification program.

  • Provide logistical support for trainings and other events.

  • Oversee operations and internal communications for the team.

  • Handle internal/external communication with all applicants.

  • Oversee data systems for teams and ensures data and reports are error-free.

  • Gather, audit, report, and analyze data for the Alternative Certification Program to

inform future decisions and practices.

  • Align work to goals of improving department effectiveness.

  • Maintain direct accountability for metrics aligned with Texas Education Agency

AESP reporting for applied applicants annually.

  • Provide support during busy hiring and training seasons, adopting an "all-hands-on

deck" approach.

  • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.

All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate.

  • Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. Equivalency); Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred.

  • Ability to employ a big picture focus to understand and align with department goals to execute

strategy effectively.

  • Ability to demonstrate strategic, consultative approach to resolving ACP related issues.

  • Moderate to advanced knowledge of the following systems: Oracle, Power Point, TMS, Google

Suites, Excel, and Educator Certification Online System.

  • Ability to multitask with multiple data sources.

  • Strong: organizational skills, communication (verbal and written) attention to detail and accurately.

  • Ability to perceive organizational implications of recommendations and decisions.

  • Self-starter and able to work without close supervision.

  • Willingness to work beyond the confines of the job description to contribute to a powerful team

committed to educational equity and student achievement.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, including keep attention to detail and the

ability to adhere to strict deadlines.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills.

  • Spanish preferred.
