Title: Specialist I, Digital/Social Media

Position Summary:

The Specialist I for Digital/Social Media is responsible for the effective delivery of news and school system information to Fulton County Schools' (FCS) internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent in this position assists in the development of a new media strategy, handles the implementation of the strategy, and assists in developing and supporting various interactive technology and media tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and executes approved strategy for digital and social media

  • Writes and edits social media posts

  • Creates opportunities and provides recommendations to use graphic design and digital/social media communication

  • Assists in developing standards for effective digital/social media communication across the District

  • Maintains Communication Dept.'s photo archives, District app, database and promotional monitors

  • Promotes and assists internal and external groups with FCS graphic style requirements

  • Provides support for various departments, initiatives, and programs to help internal stakeholders meet objectives for external engagement

  • Supports the development of an annual digital/social media communications plan that meets organizational objectives and aligns with FCS communications strategy and overall District goals; Communicates and implements plan consistently across the District

  • Measures the effectiveness of communications messages and channels on an ongoing basis and makes recommendations to review and amend plans as appropriate

  • Provides updates to the Executive Director of Communications and other key internal and external stakeholders at regular intervals to ensure the new media strategy is effective

  • Serves as point of contact for communication inquiries and requests for advice

  • Provides support to departments in developing their own communications programs while ensuring consistency with the central communications strategy

  • Advises Executive Director on sensitive and complex communications challenges, including crisis communications issues

  • Creates opportunities for employees and the community to interact with District Leadership; Organizes and coordinates events and ensures mechanisms are in place to gather and act on meaningful stakeholder feedback, factoring that into future efforts

  • Supports the culture of the organization

  • Serves as a champion for the District's values, standards, and strategic initiatives

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Education and Experience:

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED required

  • Some college preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field required

Certification/Licensure:

  • None required

  • Must be willing to acquire additional training as directed by manager

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communications skills with the ability to present information clearly, concisely and creatively

  • Knowledge of communications methods

  • Must be able to manage SharePoint website and communication databases

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Social Media Platforms, and Content Management Systems

  • Demonstrated ability to work with personal and confidential information

  • Must be able to collaborate effectively with district and school personnel, the general public, and work with diverse groups of people

  • Must be able to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects, and responsibilities

  • Ability to work independently or as a team member

Salary Information:

Salary Range for 2018-2019

  • $40,552 - $47,860

Step placement credit may be granted for up to a maximum of 8 years (Step 9) of prior verifiable experience. Salary placement with Fulton County Schools is non-negotiable. Actual salary placement will be based on Fulton County Board of Education experience calculations from the Non-Teaching Salary Schedule A-235, Professional Scale, Step 1 - Step 9.

They will review campaign performance and make every effort to ensure client satisfaction and retention. They are the main point of contact with Local Solutions, the fulfillment provider. Priorities and Responsibilities * Uses comprehensive knowledge of all digital ad products and fulfillment processes to effectively launch and maintain campaigns that achieve advertiser goals and KPIs error free. * Detailed knowledge of both internal and outsourced digital fulfillment requirements and workflow. * Maintain a comprehensive understanding of fulfillment processes for each product in order to troubleshoot issues and resolve them quickly. * Organize account information/orders appropriately to be able to monitor fulfillment processes for each product in a campaign. * Proficient knowledge and error free data entry within communication, order management, and billing systems. * Accurate client reporting. Accurate client billing. * Reviews all orders to ensure proper documentation is supplied and secures any missing data from other team members prior to launching the campaigns. * Understand analytics and campaign performance for the purpose of quality assurance, accurate reporting, and optimization recommendations for upsell opportunities. * Holds fulfillment providers accountable for SLA and KPI delivery and escalates issues as needed. * Participate in client onboarding and goals calls with other team members to ensure an error free launch of a campaign. * Set proper SLA expectations with the sales staff, other Digital Media Sales Specialist (and clients when applicable) during the fulfillment process.
