Position Summary:

Provides outstanding service to all customers with a key focus on the foodservice area; ensures that all food items meet the required stock levels and presentation standards; and that all cleanliness and food safety standards are met or exceeded, greets customers in a friendly manner and suggestively sells and samples items to help increase sales.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensures proper preparation, presentation and maintenance of stock levels for all foodservice products available to the customer

  • Provides personalized customer service by greeting each customer, assisting with purchases, suggestively selling and making sure all food products are available and ready for consumption

  • Takes an active role in promoting new foodservice programs introduced by the Company

  • Assists in code-dating food items to ensure quality and safety. Follows all food sanitation guidelines

  • Helps ensure proper storage, dating and rotation of all food products and supplies

  • Actively promotes foodservice items through regular sampling initiatives, engages in suggestive selling and communication of promotional items and specials

  • Cleans and maintains the foodservice area including, but not limited to, cleaning counters, equipment, floors and cabinets. Performs light maintenance duties as assigned

  • Helps ensure all equipment is operating correctly. Communicates to Management when maintenance is needed

  • Monitors customer lines at the Point of Sale (POS) system and opens additional registers as needed, in order to expedite the sales process

  • Learns and follows all applicable procedures outlined in the Company Food Service User's Guide

  • Listens and responds to customer requests and forwards necessary information to Management

  • Maintains knowledge of current sales/goals for each food category, Food Quality compliance inspections and the Speedway Customer Ready Worksheets

  • Attends Company required training programs; assists in training fellow store associates on existing and new training programs as needed

  • Provides suggestions for and actively participates in improving sales, margins and execution of all foodservice programs

  • Completes other duties as assigned by Management

Requirements

Education Requirements:

  • No requirement

Experience Requirements:

  • Foodservice/customer Service experience preferred

Skill Requirements:

  • Basic computer skills

  • Exceptional customer service skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Understanding of store functions and operations

  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and ability to work as a member of a team

  • Ability to model proper workplace behavior, including being respectful, honest and fair

  • Ability to perform repeated bending, kneeling, twisting and overhead reaching

  • Ability to work in intermittent temperatures, e.g., outside by the pumps and in the cooler

  • Ability to stand for an entire shift

  • Ability to frequently lift between 5 to 20 pounds

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

The desired result is to provide every youth in the program with a mentoring relationship. Senior Youth Specialists are committed to implementing trauma-informed care with a Positive Youth Development approach, helping youth utilize their strengths to solve problems, achieve goals, and pursue their dreams. Assists in planning, delivering, and evaluating direct services to youth and families. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Lead by example, which includes: completing tasks thoroughly and on time, successfully implementing crisis de-escalation techniques with youth in the program and helping team members when they need support or assistance. Be a positive role model for peers and youth participating in programs. Provide individual and group mentoring to the youth. Provide aid, assistance, and referrals to youth needing food, clothing, and shelter. Document all services provided to youth, families, and community members. Coordinate and facilitate substance abuse prevention and education services in the agency and community, including but not limited to, facilitating Botvin LifeSkills groups and participating in the SaYes Theatre Troupe. Provide community education and outreach presentations in compliance with grant requirements. RELEVANT JOB FUNCTIONS: Assist in training new personnel. Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Youth Specialist program. Participate in one community event in any six-month period. Create and rehearse new scenarios for SaYes Theatre performances with a team of peers. Perform in a minimum of 50% of the out-of-house and six in-house performances in any six-month period. Provide support to Residential Specialists in completing assigned shift tasks. Data entry in coordination with the Assistant Program Manager. Attend all monthly RHY Staff Meetings and Supervision meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. SUPERVISION: Not Applicable REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: KNOWLEDGE OF: * Or willingness and ability to learn Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.), the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), and other computer programs and databases. * SKILLS TO: * Communicate effectively, both written and verbal. * Work effectively and positively with those in your environment. * ABILITY TO: * Implement trauma-informed care and Positive Youth Development strategies with youth in crisis. * Work with multi-disciplinary teams. * Access and develop innovative resources to address the needs of youth. * Present a positive, professional image to the community. * REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. * Valid driver's license and clean driving record. * Experience working with youth preferred. * ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: * Physical Requirements: * Environmental Working Requirements: This position works in residential/clinical environment. * Other Requirements * Adheres to Common Ground policy on confidentiality. * The work environment for this position may subject staff to behavioral and medical problems that could be physically hazardous.
