Position Summary/Objective:

Reporting to the VP of Sales, the Specialist Divisions Sales Manager will be responsible to manage the sales teams for specific market/ product group segments & liaise with company sales team members and Managers to help create new customers and opportunities to help continue additional sales growth within our existing customer base. This Manager will identify business opportunities for expansion within and beyond the current geographical area/ product groups. As directed, the incumbent will implement sales and marketing plans to maintain market leadership position for GCE.

Essential Functions

  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from the Marketing Department, Regional Sales Managers and Director of Sales.

  • Identifies top prospects and reviews with Management.

  • Develops pricing options to meet customer and company needs.

  • Identifies and resolves customer issues, acts as the customer's advocate.

  • Responsible for overall development of assigned specialist sales.

  • Performs sales forecasting, analysis, and reporting.

  • Contributes to regional, and individual goal setting and planning processes.

  • Maintains communication with corporate and staff on relevant issues.

  • Travels across our geographical footprint to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, maintain existing business and enhance and develop customer relationships and new potential customers.

  • Advises both the customers and GCE sales team of new products and provides technical knowledge of products.

  • Conducts in-service demonstrations as required for contractors and various decision-makers.

  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.

  • Prepares reports of business transactions, keeps expense accounts and reviews those of their team.

  • Actively participates in regular meetings with VP of Sales and company representatives.

  • Proven track record of successful sales experience and demonstrated ability to close business.

  • Demonstrated ability to build, enhance and maintain effective business relationships with both customer base and internal GCE staff.

  • Strong verbal, written & presentation skills.

  • Proven team player with remote locations, corporate, distribution centers, etc.

  • Ability to plan and prioritize activities and handle confidential information.

  • Proven ability to interact successfully with all levels of the organization.

  • Must possess high degree of organization skills and be a self-starter.

  • Adaptability / flexibility / willing to change & adjust with business conditions.

  • Recruit, retain and provide ongoing professional development.

  • Coachable & Provide on-going training and coaching of direct reports and ensure that training and coaching is provided to all staff members.

  • Multi-tasker and works with a sense of urgency.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages and directs a staff that includes the following positions: Inside and Outside Sales, Assistant Branch Managers, Branch Managers.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degrees in marketing or related field

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in sales and marketing is required.

  • Demonstrated track record for sales growth and new business development is essential.

  • Equivalent education or experience may be substituted for any of the above.
