Job Overview:

The Specialist, Developer Personalization Systems will be responsible for driving the success of macys.com Site Optimization and Personalization program. This role ensures timely delivery of A/B test and Personalization campaigns across Macy's digital properties which in turn enable Macys to gain insight into customer behavior in order to optimize customer journey and improve key KPIs - Conversion Rate, Revenue, Customer Lifetime value and AOV (Average Order Value).

The Specialist, Developer Personalization Systems will work hand in hand with business stakeholders and other implementation and QA teams for Campaign Planning and Execution. This person will also provide completed code to meet the needs of the program and provide technical solutions for Site Experimentation. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for creation and execution of Site Optimization campaigns (A/B and multivariate testing and personalization).

  • Clarify requirements, process and review Site Campaign Briefs and validate deliverables.

  • Leverage technical skills to create prototypes, support and troubleshoot site campaign launches.

  • Ensures accuracy of Analytics Reporting across the A/B Testing platforms.

  • Effectively partner cross functionally to design, problem-solve and deliver solutions.

  • Proactively identify problems that arise in projects, outline options, recommend solutions and resolve issues.

  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.



  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • 3+ years' experience working with A/B and Multivariate Testing platforms including Adobe Target, SiteSpect and Optimizely.

  • 4 years+ strong, hands on experience with Javascript, HTML, AJAX and CSS.

  • Knowledge of Web Analytics report suites such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics and IBM Digital Analytics and apply this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans.

  • Has project experience utilizing frameworks such as NodeJS or ReactJS.

  • Experience with 3rd party libraries for DOM Manipulation.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to assure common understanding and timely problem-solving.

  • Basic understanding of mobile app design/architecture and key messaging components (push, in-app messages, ibeacon, etc) nice to have.

  • Experience with optimizing high trafficked web pages for Performance - internet and retail experience strongly a plus.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and analytical skills.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions

Physical Demands:

  • This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking.

  • May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.

  • May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time.

  • Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.

  • May involve moving or lifting items under 10 pounds.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
