Position Summary:

The Contract Connectivity Specialist will be responsible for mining distributor data to identify members who are buying Premier contract items but not using a Premier contract price. This individual will need to identify potential opportunities through data analysis and work with the Premier team and the member to validate the opportunity. Once confirmed, the Specialist will need to work with distributor, manufacturer and member to get the purchasing connected to our contract, and included in supplier/distributor sales and administrative fee reports.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Identify opportunities to connect Premier members to Premier contract pricing for contracted products currently purchased by members.

  • Mine distributor-provided data to discover potential opportunities. Requires original thought and the ability to analyze data to determine root causes. Interpret and fully vet an opportunity before pursuing with the distributor/manufacturer.

  • Export data from large datamarts and data warehouses.

  • Analyze and interpret the data through queries and filtering using unscripted and non-routine processes.

  • Understand general distributor business processes to interpret the data and work collaborative with distributors .

  • Use investigative reasoning to critically audit the data to understand the inter-connectivity between distributors and manufacturers.

  • Possess the business acumen and professional integrity to articulate the opportunities identified and work with the distributor to correct.

  • Communicate results directly to field force, members and Premier staff. This involves both formal and informal presentations of data using MS Excel or MS PowerPoint.

  • Miscellaneous administrative (process documentation, process improvement).

Education & Work Experience:

  • High School/GED Required.

  • Bachelors preferred or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in business, healthcare or related area.

  • 2 or more years of applicable experience, 2-3 years distributor experience preferred.

  • Experience working with distributor charge-backs / rebate processing.

  • Experience working with large data-sets; extracting and analyzing data.

  • Experience interpreting data, identifying root causes and making recommendations.

  • Extensive working knowledge of healthcare distribution specifically related to charge-backs and rebates.

  • Intermediate Access, SQL and advanced experience in Excel.

Job Responsibilities * Manage and develop supplier relationships * Manage and track individual member product Commitment Schedules * Calculate demand forecast analysis both macro and micro and provide to suppliers and wholesalers based on member Commitment Schedules * Influence product supply level targets through collaboration between suppliers and wholesalers per terms * Provide value-add analytics to maintain or increase contract compliance; collaborate with suppliers and wholesalers identifying root cause analysis as needed * Perform monthly performance of member progress toward commitment and highlight any trends out of norm * Provide quarterly reports to committed members which track performance towards annual committed volumes by product * Perform end year analysis reconciling actual purchases compared to annual committed volumes by product * Develop and maintain reporting tools and dashboard metrics for product and supplier performance * Perform market surveillance to maintain competitive pricing * Lead routine supplier meetings providing influence into each supplier's Sales and Operations Planning process increasing product planning effectiveness * Manage product pre and post launch tasks and activities * Handle end of life product cycle and obsolescence with supplier and wholesaler * Negotiation and management of the supplier contract from execution to expiration including but not limited to facilitating amendments to the contract * Monitor and report variable enhanced value fees * Serve as the single point of contact for the contract and responding to questions from Premier's field team and member hospitals * Provide subject matter expertise in terms of industry wide and macroeconomic changes affecting supply competitiveness * Align Member and Supplier expectations * Collaborate daily with Senior Director for guidance and direction with complexities of contract portfolio or issue resolution * The Manager will continue to evolve with the direction of the ProvideGx Program and will continually develop efficient and effective methods in ensuring member compliance and product supply from supplier based on committed volume. Job Responsibilities Relationship Development * Manage supplier contractual relationship with Premier * Work with counterparts at key supplier and other partner organizations to maximize the benefits realized from the ongoing relationship. * Resolve supplier related issues regarding contracting or product planning activities. * Remain point of contact for the Supplier to Premier and vice versa. * Manage supplier performance and contract compliance * Serve as a liaison between supplier and wholesaler to ensure contract effectiveness * Align supply chain expectations with the Member community. * Manage committed Member performance Department / GPS Project Management * Represent business and financial impact of contracts and their impact on service line goal performance as part of a cross functional service line team * Participate in or lead projects to improve internal business processes (forecasting, supplier and Member dashboards, amendments, relationship management) * Perform risk analysis and monitor those areas in multiple contracting categories * Provide monthly analysis of member commitment and supplier product supply performance * Provide quarterly and annual member commitment reports Contract Management * Forecast units and revenue based on historical trends, market conditions, and contract terms and member Commitment Schedules. * Review and provide feedback during the finalization of contract Terms & Conditions * Responsible for actively working to increase contract uptake via direct communication with the field; program development with suppliers; and analysis of contract compliance. * Lead periodic supplier business reviews focused on compliance metrics and consensus forecasting * Assist in training new suppliers on Premier policies and procedures * Manage the amendment process including writing standard terms and conditions, evaluating financial impact, and ensuring contract modifications are in the best interest of Premier and its Members * Maintain competitive market pricing per contract terms * Provide contract data to Forecasting, Revenue Reconciliation and Rebates teams when requested * Perform risk analysis and monitor those areas in multiple contracting categories Contract Planning and Forecasting * Monitor contract compliance to maximize Premier administrative fees. * Enforces contract compliance by ensuring timely reporting of sales and payment of administrative fees * Monitor accounts receivable for portfolio. * Perform forecast risk and opportunity analysis for portfolio Job Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or Operations Management, Healthcare or related field required * Master's Degree preferred (MBA or equivalent) * 6+ years of experience in an individual contributor role in supply chain and contract/account management in an organization with contracts OR Financial analyst or sourcing specialist, product planning and revenue forecasting * Understanding terms and conditions of contracts required * Strong analytical skills; Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Access skills required * Experience using databases / data warehouses to mine data and identify trends preferred * Prior experience with partner contracts and demand planning preferred * APICS Certification preferred Role Specific Competencies * Ability to support internal or external customers * Understanding of basic accounting concepts * Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively * Problem solving and decision making * Ability to perform financial analyses * Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills * High level of autonomy and motivation in order to deliver upon the group's annual objectives * Ability to be self-directed and able to perform daily tasks with minimal supervision #LI-LB1 Premier is looking for smart, agile individuals like you to help us transform the healthcare industry.
