The Specialist, Client Service Global Fund Services is responsible for overall client service and delivery across all applicable disciplines (Custody, Fund Accounting, Fund Administration, Transfer Agency or Middle Office Outsourcing) for one or multiple clients. Facilitates efforts of the service team and other internal stakeholders, coordinating resources to ensure timely delivery and issue resolution, and effectively communicating client concerns/needs to partners.

Responsibilities:
1.Acts as the senior client contact representing all applicable product disciplines, and provides for escalation on client queries and issue resolution. Responsible for identifying and addressing service issues as and when they arise
2.Responsible for managing client service reviews and due diligence visits within each of the key product areas (Custody, Fund Accounting, Fund Administration, Transfer Agency or Middle Office Outsourcing). Monitor performance against Service Level Deliverables.
3.Partners with Relationship Manager/s and ensures issues are communicated and escalated in a timely manner both internally and directly with the client(s)
4.Responsible for overall project planning for key clients, inclusive of ensuring all relevant internal and external parties are aware of ongoing projects and are held responsible for meeting their respective deliverables. The Client Service Delivery Manager is also responsible for keeping the client informed of progress towards project completion
5.Review, approve and ensure timely publication of monthly reporting to consultants/clients including communication of KPI levels
6.Focus of role is on execution of strategic direction of business function activities
7.Facilitates communication and resolution of complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues
8.Consistently displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the rest of the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity
9.Lead virtual team meetings with all relevant business units prior to all service reviews and as needed to ensure all members of the service team are communicating appropriately.

Extensive experience in client servicing, related investment management outsourcing and/or fund administration accounting/operations.

A College or University degree and/or general finance and portfolio management knowledge through proven work experience is required

Technical knowledge of trust or asset management and accounting usually acquired through related work experience is required to manage overall client service.

Knowledge of general finance and portfolio management concepts usually acquired through formal education or experience is needed to consult on client needs.

Skills in negotiation, delegating, leadership, and service are necessary to service the client relationship

Oral and written communication skills are required

Highly flexible and adaptable to change
10+ years of relevant industry experience is preferred

Fund Accounting delivers valuation, accounting and administration services to Northern Trust's Global Fund Services clients. The Team Lead will be responsible for supervising and supporting a team of Accountants within the Third Party Unregistered Fund Accounting team, assisting with workflow distribution, and organizing the team's priorities in order to maximize the effectiveness of the team. The Team Lead will work with his/her team to assigns tasks, sets short-term priorities, monitor client deliverables and ensure timely and accurate completion of all required work. The Team Lead will also work with the section manager in identifying, mitigating and foreseeing potential risks to the business operations. PRIMARY DUTIES * Responsible for work flow distribution and the effective use of resources within the team * Organize the work of the team, assign tasks, set short-term priorities, monitor all activities and ensure timely and accurate completion of the work * Responsible for ensuring accurate completion of NAVs with various deliverable deadlines consisting of daily, weekly, bi weekly, and monthly * Provide on the job technical training and coaching for all team members and brief staff regularly on issues relating to work carried out by the team and new initiatives * Ensure all procedures are kept up to date and are adhered to on a daily basis * Assist the team manager in establishing goals and objectives for the team * Responsible for maintaining controls or creating controls for new processes to deal with industry regulation changes * Generate process and system enhancement ideas and co-ordinate the introduction of these changes with supporting documented procedures * Conducts performance management and career development processes, and staffing and disciplinary actions * Interact with clients KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED Excellent oral and written communication skills In-depth Client Accounting/Industry Knowledge Highly flexible and adaptable to change Knowledge of relevant software applications (Bloomberg, FIS Enterprise, FTID, Excel) preferred. Knowledge of asset classes comprising mutual funds (bonds, equities, options, futures, and/or swaps) QUALIFICATIONS A College or University degree and/or relevant work experience is required Experience in Fund Accounting is required Supervisory experience is desirable Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
