Job Description Summary

This position develops and implements college-wide marketing communications and advertising plans, ensuring consistency with brand standards and alignment with College goals. Consults with various departments to assess communication needs, oversees advertising budgets, negotiates media contracts and measures the effectiveness of traditional and digital marketing strategies.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Create college-wide marketing communications to ensure consistency and quality in alignment with college brand standards, utilizing writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Initiate and implement best practices to increase enrollment in targeted offerings and branded campaigns. Utilize the Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) plan to determine college priorities. Consult with instructional staff throughout the college to assess communication goals and develop a targeted plan to address the needs. Measure effectiveness to achieve lead/inquiry goals.

  • Develop college-wide advertising plan to include potential students, parents, business & industry and the community as audiences. Consult with various departments/teams to get input.

  • Develop and implement a traditional and digital ad strategy for the College. Research and review media for relevance, most effective advertising placement as well as new digital advertising opportunities to engage the target audience. Negotiate media contracts and manage relationships with outside vendors to ensure work meets quality, brand, schedule and budgetary requirements. Create digital ads and video ads.

  • Oversee specific communication project budgets, including advertising budget.

  • Work with Marketing Team to utilize internal and external data and website analytics to develop marketing and communication strategy and measure promotional effectiveness for both traditional and digital advertising.

  • Support Admissions and Enrollment Team with marketing resources needed to nurture and support enrollment goals.

  • Work with Marketing Managers, Admissions, and Enrollment to align online and offline marketing and communication strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in journalism, marketing, and/or communications, AND,

  • Minimum of three to five years of demonstrated marketing communications management, including budget management, AND

  • At least 2 years of recent work experience digital marketing and writing targeted marketing content, and creating branded communications across media platforms, OR

  • An equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience.

  • Marketing communications project management experience.

  • Recent experience with developing and implementing effective branded marketing communications across various media (portfolio required, containing recent projects and strategic marketing/ promotional plans).

  • Media buying/vendor relationship management experience across various media channels including digital.

  • Knowledge of Google Ads, Bing Ads and social media ad platforms.

  • Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Flexibility in work schedule is required.

  • General marketing knowledge and experience to target communications toward specific market segments.

  • Effective communication/presentation/training skills.

  • Ability to solve a variety of complex problems, using knowledge, skills and new concepts to approach resolutions in an evolving environment.

  • Aptitude or experience measuring results of marketing/sales promotion efforts and implementing changes into future promotions/communications.

Additional Information

Starting Pay: $30.80 per hour.

Note: Internal applicants wage will be based upon the applicable compensation structure.
