Excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual within the UTC Centralized Accounting Services ("CAS"). This centralized organization offers the opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of a growing accounting department and to develop processes to sustain flexibility as business needs change. Job responsibilities subject to
change based upon alignment of processes within developing organization.
Primary responsibilities include:
Specialist supports Collins Aerospace and acts on their behalf in resolving Intercompany/Intracompany functions. These functions include:
Responsible for the monthly confirmation process for all domestic entities with all trading partners. Identifies all disputes and works with counterpart in solving disputes. Has a natural curiosity to find root case of issues and brings forth solutions.
Perform monthly closing activities related to Intercompany and Intracompany reconciliation and journal entries.
Apply U.S. GAAP knowledge to month end closing process. Record journal entries.
Perform monthly account reconciliations under UTC Policy and guidelines.
Perform annual clearing for domestic entities and ensure unreconciled items are followed up.
Contribute to development of CAS by bringing innovative solutions within the knowledge base and work of the department.
Participate in projects as required by the department.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting
A minimum of 5 year's professional experience in accounting.
Educated in Microsoft Office PowerPoint and Excel. Advanced Excel knowledge in pivot tables and macros valued.
SAP experience preferred, but not required. Solid understanding and relevant experience of how transactions affect the Balance Sheet.
Other: Candidate should possess strong communication skills with the demonstrated ability to interact with Business Unit staff and management.
Candidate must take responsibility for issues and bring to closure with minimum supervision. Ability to drive closure on Intercompany disputes and demonstrated experience in driving closure.
