Role overview

The Staff Accountant, reporting to the Accounting Manager, is responsible for building lasting relationships with Accounting, Finance, People & Culture Business Partners and Business Leaders to advise and solve challenging, real-time problems.

A day in the life

Accounts Payable duties including but not limited to:

  • Code, process and reconcile invoices in the financial accounting system

  • Match purchase orders to invoices and resolve variances

  • Send out approval requests and scan invoices

  • Prepare and perform weekly check runs

  • Perform filing duties

  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries

  • Assist with month-end close and year-end close

  • Maintain files and records to keep information updated and easily accessible

  • Interpret accounting data, analyze reports and recommend action to be taken

  • Ensure assigned balance sheet accounts are accurately reconciled with supporting documents

  • Enter monthly journal entries to properly record accounting transactions, ensuring that journal entries have proper back up to substantiate the entry

  • Assist team with providing financial reporting, budget preparation, revenue reporting, and analysis

  • Participate in projects including but not limited to assisting payroll, assisting Concur and expenses, as well as assisting our Global locations

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required

  • Experience in full-cycle accounting/accounts payable operations preferred, but not required.

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel

Under the guidance of the Returns and Customer Service Manager, the candidate will be processing RMA (Return Material Authorization) credit memos from various vendors, working with internal and external clients to determine proper processing and resolve discrepancies. Responsibilities: * Download credit memos from websites of various vendors. * Organize unprocessed credit memos on team workflow site. * Communicate with vendors to obtain credit memos once approved items have been returned or when intangible items have been approved for credit. * Responsible for tracking equipment returned to vendor and reaching out to the vendor to ensure proper processing of credit. * Communicate with internal teams (sales, logistics, billing, etc.) to resolve outstanding issues. * Responsible for weekly and ad hoc reports of their RMAs. * Review/research accounts payable issues (duplicate shipments, duplicate billing, etc.). * Responsible for multiple email boxes (individual and shared). Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or similar * 0-1 year of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or Billing preferred. * Experience with accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, Great Plains preferred. * Intermediate Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word is required. * Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal. * Ability to use multiple computer systems including but not limited to vendor websites, Great Plains or similar accounting software, etc. Presidio, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer/ VEVRAA Federal Contractor.
