Sterile Processing Technician processes and maintains supply of patient care articles, performs, monitors, and documents sterilization process and prepares supplies, surgical case carts and instrument sets; delivers, exchanges, and restocks express team carts according to department standards. Prepares linen for various specialty department and in-hospital needs; maintains equipment pool; performs inventory control functions, participates in service education.# High School graduate/GED.

Certified Central Processing Technician.

Knowledge of decontamination, assembly of surgical instrumentation including Navigation, laparoscopic, spine, arthroscopic, vendor trays Knowledge of sterilization including Pre-Vac and VPRO. Ability to work in a high stress environment where the multiple demands of a busy operating room dictate ever-changing prioritization of activity.

Assists with special projects and management functions. Responsibilities: * Manages and prioritizes multiple assignments simultaneously and effectively such as, acting as a liaison between internal and external customers by greeting customers, answer and triage phone calls. * Administers calendar and schedules management. * Composes and prepares a variety of correspondence (e.g., reports, forms, presentation materials, messages, etc.) as required. * Use electronic system to pull incoming submissions from investigators, provide to IRB members, and then process IRB responses. * Provides coverage of other areas. * Provides coordination of management functions and assistance in special projects. * Other duties as assigned. Education: * High school diploma or GED required. * Associate's Degree preferred. Certifications: * None required. Complexity of Work: * Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. * Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Work Experience: * Five years office experience. * Typing proficiency of 55 wpm with accuracy preferred. * Minimum five years experience coordinating and assisting with management functions and special projects. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite products (Outlook, Word, Excel or Power Point). * Requires completion of on-line Skills Assessment for demonstrated proficiency level. * Demonstrates exceptional clerical, communication and organizational skills. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. * Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Physical Requirements: * A high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC/word processor, normal or corrected vision and ability to tolerate extensive sitting and frequent walking. * Lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds.
