The Special Populations Analyst will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating student support programs for special population students. Special population students include: individuals with disabilities, individuals from economically disadvantaged families, individuals preparing for non-traditional fields, single ,parents (including single pregnant women), out-of-workforce individuals, English learners, homeless individuals (as described in section 725 of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act), youth who are in or have aged out of the foster care system, youth with a parent who is a member of the armed forces and is on active duty.
Assists in the developing of state-wide program plans and policies by making written/oral recommendations to the appropriate management staff
Serves as a project manager by coordinating and operating the Special Populations Program within federal, state and local guidelines
Implements programs that facilitate achievement of goals and objectives and conforms to all policies
Provides services and advisement to students based on eligibility or their self-identification that are: single parents, displaced homemaker, non-traditional career field, or economically disadvantaged
Provides outreach to students who are members of the special population groups
Provides case management and referral activities as prescribed by federal, state and local guidelines for Special Population services
Manages the Special Populations Textbook Lending Library Program
Coordinates and monitors TEAMS (TCSG Early Alert Management System) to support college persistence, retention, and on-time degree completion
Monitors progress of program implementation, evaluates results, and recommends changes and improvements
Writes and updates student information materials for Special Populations
Ensures adherence to budget and other administrative requirements to meet the objectives of the program
Collects and compiles related data
Coordinates the activities of special task forces, focus groups, or other designed groups
Identifies staff development training needs and provides training
Prepares or approves manuals, guidelines, and reports on state educational policies and practices for distribution
Performs other duties as assigned
