Requirements for Applying

Programs may include but not be limited to; GATE, Safe and Drug Free School, Title II, and others as directed. Provide professional development, program modeling and other support for teachers in these areas. Representative Duties: ? Serve as the District liaison by directing and coordinating the programs for GATE and Safe and Drug Free Schools ? Organize and monitor the administration of required assessments for GATE identification ? Support parent communication and involvement by leading the district GATE and Safe and Drug Free Schools Committees * Assist teachers at each grade level to organize appropriate groupings of GATE students based on the GATE Plan * Demonstrate and recommend use of adopted and supplemental materials matched to student needs. * Facilitate collaboration meetings to monitor GATE and Safe and Drug Free School Programs * Prepare and submit all required categorical applications and reports * Interpret and implement categorical programs according to individual school needs * Provide guidance in implementation of instruction and facilitate and coordinate curriculum adoptions process * Coordinate and facilitate positive communication amongst community, administrators, teachers, support staff and parents to ensure comprehension of categorical program goals. * Plan and oversee the management and monitoring of all categorical budgets * Make plans for the most effective use of curriculum materials, instructional supplies and equipment * Ensure adherence to federal and state law, requirements and district policies * Maintain accurate records of all categorical and grant programs * Plan, monitor, and assist with Compliance Monitoring Program * Assume related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Knowledge and Abilities: * Identify, develop and coordinate professional development opportunities for personnel throughout the district * Maintain professional competence/advanced preparation through participation in in-service education activities provided by the District, County, State and/or self-selected professional growth activities. * Knowledge of procedures, policies and terminology used for categorical compliance and student demographics ? Knowledge of current best practices in Gifted Education, Safe and Drug Free Curriculum ?
