Duties Summary
This recruitment is for a full-time (40 hours per week) temporary contract position not-to-exceed 12 months with the Office of Housing & Community Development.
This position is exempt from civil service.
Work must be performed in-person at the Office of Housing & Community Development, located at 1990 Kinoole Street, Suite 102, in Hilo, Hawai
i. No virtual option is available. Normal working hours are Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:45am and 4:30pm. Reports to the Administrative and Accounting Services Division Manager.

Examples of Duties
Maintain accounting records for the Homelessness, Housing Production Program Community Engagement Division, and Grants Management Division.
Maintain and prepare accounting activities and accounting processes for the Homelessness, Housing Production Program, Community Engagement Division, and Grants Management Division.
Ensure program and fiscal implementation as applicable under the program rules.
Maintain, process and prepare data collection forms related to the Homelessness, Housing Production and Community Engagement Division to support reporting requirements.
Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, manage procurement, and all duties related to the accounting functions of the Homelessness, Housing Production Program, Community Engagement Division, and Grants Management Division.
Perform other related and assigned duties as required.

A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to:
License Requirement:
Ability to travel independently to various geographic locations. This requirement may be fulfilled by the possession of a valid State of Hawai`i driver's license (Class 3), a valid comparable driver's license, or use of other means of transportation that meets position needs.
Knowledge of:
Theories, principles, and practices of accounting; preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports; fiscal administration including budgeting and financial reporting; report writing; and office practices and procedures.
Ability to:
Devise, modify, and install accounting methods, techniques, and procedures; prepare complete and accurate reports in accordance with accounting standards; analyze data, detect errors, and correct inconsistencies in accounting records; learn and apply pertinent laws and regulations applicable to the department's programs; operate a personal computer using applicable software applications; and maintain effective working relationships with others.
