Special Procedures Technician

Special procedures technologists operate medical diagnostic imaging equipment such as computer tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners and assist in imaging procedures such as angiography and cardiac catheterization (CC).


  • Performs exceptional customer satisfaction by creating a positive environment for all visitors, coworkers and physicians through prompt responses to requests, maintaining a clean and orderly environment and actively committing to help achieve department goals.

  • Provides exceptional safety by obtaining accurate histories and diagnosis; following and complying with all department policies, protocols and regulatory agency requirements.

  • Creates exceptional clinical/service outcomes by providing quality diagnostic images of requested anatomy with in specified timeframes through the use of radiology informatics tools.

  • Graduate of an accredited program for Radiography

  • ARRT (R)

  • Current Florida state licensure

  • Current American Heart Association Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Minimum of two (2) years working as an Imaging Tech, preferably in an acute-care setting

  • Customer service abilities, including effective listening skills

  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs

VIEW JOBS 11/15/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-13T00:00 The Electrophysiology Tech is responsible for the education to staff, outcome measurements, recordings, and documentation for the hemodynamic data on electrophysiology/ablation procedures following established policies and procedures. Scrubs with physician and circulates on all cath lab procedures, including prepping, sterile procedures and interventional technology, within scope of practice and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Implements daily and weekly QA and maintenance procedures on all specified cardiac cath equipment according to established policies and procedures. Utilizes all appropriate equipment and supplies according to established policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system. Uses system to report potential patient safety issues. Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or an unanticipated outcome in the patient's care which results in patient harm. Uses Performance Improvement Plan to improve patient safety. Bachelors degree in Biology Anatomy & Physiology, or related field, or allied healthcare professional (RCIS) 2 years RCIS Electrophysiology Lab experience with all understandings of EP and Ablation devices. Abilty to demonstrate competency in arrhythmia idenfication, hemodynamic changes, all interventional (EP/ablation/coronary/peripheral). Maintain current BLS; ACLS HCA Trinity FL
