Doctors Hospital of Augusta is a 354-bed HCA facility located near the Georgia-South Carolina border. Doctors Hospital is well known for its Joseph M.

Still Burn Center, the largest burn center in the country, which sees more than 3,000 patients annually. In addition, the burn center was recently granted a special burn designation as part of the Georgia Trauma Care Network. This designation included a rigorous review program administered by the American Burn Association (ABA) and the American College of Surgeons (ACA).

Doctors Hospital is certified as a Primary Stroke Center, as well as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. Doctors was recently the first hospital in the area to be designated a Center of Excellence in Women's Health Surgery.

And was one of 244 hospitals nationally to be named a top performer for Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission. Doctors Hospital was also recognized as one of only 17 hospitals in the state of Georgia placed in the Chairman's Category, the highest category attainable, by the Georgia Hospital Association for clinical outcomes. Special Procedures Technologist

Position Summary:
Operates Special Procedures imaging equipment to produce images of patient's body for diagnostic purposes and assist physicians with procedures in sterile environment.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an Accredited AMA Program with Certificate or Degree in Radiology. Must maintain minimum CEU's to maintain Registration with ARRT.

Certifications / Registration:

  • ACLS Certification required within 60 days

  • ARRT Registered or ARRT Registry Eligible

  • BLS required upon hire

Experience:

  • 3-6 Months Full Time Special Procedures Clinical Experience
  • 2 Years Experience Preferred

VIEW JOBS 8/14/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-11-12T00:00 Responsibilities The Pharmacy Distribution Automation Technician will assist pharmacists in the acquisition, preparation, and distribution of medications in treating the patients under the University Hospital system of care. The duties may include but are not limited to the following responsibilities: packaging and labeling of medications, operation of pharmacy information systems, delivery of medications via a delivery cart to patient care areas including operation of the PYXIS automation, and general support to pharmacists in delivering pharmaceutical care to all patient populations (i.e., neonate, infant, child, adult, and geriatric). May also periodically or routinely serve as a medicine technician to assist nursing in the acquisition of medications from PYXIS. Demonstrates population-specific competencies (e.g. age-specific, cultural sensitivity, patient-centered communication) in performance of role. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of ASHP accredited program or State accredited Pharmacy Technology School preferred. Licensure/Certification: Pharmacy Technician Certification as recognized by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and State of Georgia Pharmacy Technician Registration or licensure in the state of Georgia as a Pharmacy Intern. Experience: One (1) year experience of hospital technician work is required to include broad experience in unit dose drug distribution and IV admixtures. Graduate of ASHP accredited program or State accredited Pharmacy Technology School may be substituted for one (1) year work experience. Knowledge, skills, abilities: Individual should be able to communicate and interact effectively with a variety of healthcare professionals. Must be able to perform basic computer tasks in generating reports and adjusting patient medication billing accounts. Reading comprehension and visual skills must be sufficient to see and interpret drug orders, reports or other written forms of communication. Must be able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and problem solve. Individual should possess a basic knowledge of various drug products, pharmaceutical laws, and drug distribution. Must possess a philosophy of health care service consistent with that of the mission of University Hospital. Physical Demands: Ability to move throughout the hospital to accomplish duties. Visual ability to see & read records, reports, or computer terminals. Manual dexterity to enter data and retrieve data from computers or related information systems. Ability to communicate verbally.
