As a Special Procedures Nurse/RN, you will:

  • The responsibility of the Special Procedures Registered Nurse is to provide a Registered Nurse to closely monitor patients during invasive procedures.

  • The Special Procedures Nurse is responsible to conduct an initial and ongoing assessment designed to gather data relevant to the patient's individual needs and age group

  • The Special Procedures Nurse monitors and/or assists with the following procedures:

  • Must be able to administer IV's; IV medications, and draw blood gases

  • Responsible for taking short patient history; checking pedal, popliteal and femoral pulses and performing neuro checks

  • Must be able to recognize risks and complications related to x-ray procedures through knowledge of physical assessment

As a Special Procedures Nurse/RN you will have:

  • Graduated from an accredited Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.

  • Current state licensure as Registered Nurse. BLS certification. ACLS Certification.

  • Twelve (12) months of Critical Care experience. PICC Competency, PACU and IR experience preferred.

Medical Imaging Specialist III - Special Procedures Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served in his/her department. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's requirements relative to his or her age specific needs, and provide the care needed as described in tdepartment's policies and procedures. Provides health care services applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Provides assistance to the Radiologist during all Special Procedures. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential to successful completion of the procedure. Provides services to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology Program and a member in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Experience: Demonstrates documented competence specific to the Special Procedures position.
