DUTIES:

  • Assist children at Storybook Forest events.

  • Assist with carnival style games, hand out candy, read to visitors, dress in character, manage the crowds, assist at hayride, serve food at the concession, or work as a parking attendant.

  • Need to be available for a training day during the week of October 15th.

  • Must be available to work during the event from October 23rd through October 30th.

  • Event hours are 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm daily.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prefer experience working with children or assisting with special events.

  • Must be at least 15 years of age.

  • Must be able to work the entire event.

  • Must be able to stand for several hours at a time.

  • Must be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather.

  • Must be able to lift/carry objects up to 25 pounds.

  • Must be able to communicate with visitors using tact and diplomacy.

VIEW JOBS 8/30/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-11-28T00:00 Edmond Public Schools Edmond, Oklahoma JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Special Education Teacher Consultant DEPARTMENT: Special Services Center REPORTS TO: Director of Special Services or Special Education Coordinator Job Goal: To provide a comprehensive continuum of training through consultation, modeling, coaching, and professional development for special education and related service personnel regarding the implementation of curriculum, academic and behavior interventions, social skills, research based methodologies designed to enhance student learning, special education paperwork, and methods for reporting progress of students with disabilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provide district-wide staff development throughout the year for special education teachers and related service personnel based on specific special education services/programs as assigned. * Evaluate district-wide training activities in order to improve program effectiveness by reviewing/analyzing multiple data sources to guide professional development (e.g., post-training evaluation forms, surveys of staff needs, district-wide rate of improvement comparison data, etc). * Routinely monitor and offer specific professional development based on fidelity measures collected regarding curriculum implementation. * Assist special education teachers in the systematic implementation of the curriculum and data collection to maximize instructional access across the district. * Including a basic foundation of supplies across all special education programs (e.g., classroom sets of curriculum and supplemental materials such as manipulatives, assessment tools for progress monitoring, graphing data, etc.) * Research curriculum, best practices, and methodologies that are peer reviewed which increase students with disabilities achievement and/or positive behavior. * Assist IEP teams with analyzing data and information when making instructional decisions, planning individual student programs that result in appropriate placement, accommodations or modifications, and interventions. * Review teachers' IEPs and offer suggestions for improvement of content, including checking closely to see that deadlines, as well as compliant components are being met within the special education software program. * Maintain records of teachers' consultations and parent contacts. * Respond promptly to telephone calls, emails, and written correspondence from school personnel and parents. * Attend monthly Special Services Center staff meetings to listen to all concerns and to provide input/support, as well as consultation and problem solving the issues that arise across all special education programs. * Schedule regular visits to site special education programs for special education PLC staff meetings, observations, consultation, etc. * Participate in formal parent meetings with new/resident special education teachers to model appropriate interaction and to provide support, as well as upon a request by any staff regarding a conflict situation. * Performs other duties as may be assigned. Length of Contract: One hundred eighty-two (182) contract days, with discretionary days in summer set by the Director of Special Services to assist with various activities (e.g., training, ESY, etc.) as assigned. Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Special Education Coordinator/Director of Special Services in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policies and State law. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, staff, parents, and the general public. Mathematical Skills: Ability to use mathematical skills required to analyze data for reporting purposes. Maintain accurate records and support documentation for projects under the supervision of the position. Reasonable Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to use computer and computer related programs and other technologies needed to perform essential job functions. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community. Ability to organize and chair or facilitate committees and meetings. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
