Summary of Position:#The Special Events # Communications Manager will create social media plans and strategies for events, campaigns, and appeals.
They will also engage with partners, sponsors, and donors, as well as organize events.# Special Events is responsible for the oversight and execution of Saratoga Hospital#s signature fundraising events and other Hospital events, such as doctor#s day, ribbon cutting events etc.. These currently include the Hospital Gala (August), Cantina Kids Fun Run (June), Golf Invitational (September).# Attendance ranges from 1000+ attendees at the Gala, one of Saratoga Spring#s premier summer events, to small groups of hikers.# Committee and day of volunteers (more than 200 across the four events) include key members of the Saratoga Springs community and are important Hospital stakeholders.# Event revenues historically exceed $1M and are a large component of the Foundation#s fundraising efforts. The Manager will supervise the position of summer special events projects intern.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
Integrated Communications, Planning, and Implementation:
Create and publish fresh web content to align with the Foundation's events, campaigns, appeals, and more.
Formulate and implement an innovative social media strategy to engage our target audiences across various social media platforms.
Design event flyers, brochures, posters, etc., as required for all foundation campaigns and events, collaborating with the marketing department to ensure brand compliance.
Create an email newsletter with a call to action throughout the year. Develop additional newsletters for campaigns or appeals.
Manages event solicitation strategies and proactively pursues corporate and individual sponsors, in-kind donations, and auction donations with the aim of achieving/exceeding budgeted fundraising targets.
Establishes and fosters relationships with corporate donors and community members to raise awareness of the Foundation initiatives. Is active in community events to further these relationships and identify new opportunities.
Works to secure venues and executes contracts with outside vendors.
Identifies, recruits, trains, and manages event volunteers. Engages staff, board members, and community volunteers on committees.
Manages and maintains multiple databases to track cash and in-kind donations, performs data analysis, record keeping, and oversees budget and financial reporting for events.
Minimum Qualifications: BS degree required.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in fundraising, development or special events coordination required. Background in healthcare preferred.
Salary Range: $26.97-47.44
