Job Description:
The Special Events Assistant will be the main support for external and internal events on campus. This part time position will consist of weekend and evening hours.
Responsibilities:
Assisting the events team with a high number of events, ranging from small meetings to award ceremonies and weddings
Accompanying events manager to both internal and external events
Supporting the assistant events manager with logistical and administrative support
Assisting set up and tear down
Attending meetings to prepare for upcoming events
Duties at events will include but not limited to, guest list management, showing guests to tables and taking coats, trash and clean ups of breakage and spills. May need to assist catering team at times
Helping set up and dismantle events efficiently through to completion
Required Skills/Abilities:
Creative and used to thinking outside the box

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
At least two years related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and sitting, computer work and janitorial functions.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Salary:
This non-exempt position has an hourly rate of $16.00.
Hours Expectation:
Part-time, 29 hours or less per week
