Compensation

This is a full-time, salaried position working 40 hours/ a week with an annual salary range of $62,832-$89,732. Because of our strong commitment to equity and growth, Impact does not negotiate salaries. Salaries are determined based on years of experience.

In This Position, You Will Be Responsible For:

Learning Environment and Classroom Management

  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment by implementing strategies that cater to diverse learning needs, styles, and abilities, fostering a classroom atmosphere where each student feels valued and engaged in their educational journey. Develop meaningful relationships with families and partners as it relates to scholars on their caseload. Special educators collaborate with related service providers to ensure that student needs are met in alignment with IEP services.

Instructional Practices

  • Consistently model and implement best practices in inclusive pedagogy. Special education teachers are knowledgeable of key laws, policies, and procedures in order to design and implement IEPs and BIPs with fidelity.

Planning and Preparation

  • Develop comprehensive and individualized education plans (IEP), collaborating across teams to ensure effective planning and preparation that addresses the unique needs of each student (including, but not limited to: academic, social-emotional, adaptive). Effectively case manage IEPs and BIPs for compliance in regards to implementation, timeliness, and all reporting requirements. Implement and maintain progress monitoring tools to ensure accurate evaluation of scholar progress toward goals.

  • Effective Communication: Clear communication skills to convey information to students, parents, and colleagues, facilitating collaboration and understanding of individual student needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in education or related field or actively working towards completing a bachelor's degree (within 2-years of employment required)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in special education or related field

  • Experience working with at-risk youth

  • Passion for equity and gap closing teaching experience with proven record of student growth

License/Certification

  • Must have or be eligible for certification by OSPI with an endorsement in Special Education

  • Must have or be eligible to obtain a CPR certification

  • Must have or be eligible to obtain a food handler certification

  • Must pass a fingerprint and background check

  • Complete safeschools trainings
