REQUIRED CRITERIA:

• Bachelor's Degree

• NJ Teacher of Handicapped Certification or Teacher of Students with Disabilities with a secondary co-certification

• Knowledge and experience in behavior science/behavior modification

• Experience with data collection, goal/objective writing, and progress monitoring, and writing present educational levels

• Training in de-escalation techniques

PREFERRED CRITERIA:

• Communicate effectively in written and oral form using positive interpersonal skills

• Classroom teaching experience in a similar setting

• Graduate work beyond the bachelor's degree

• Effective data-based problem-solving and team collaboration skills

• Ability to use effective strategies for differentiating instruction

• Knowledge of social skills programs and strategies

• Knowledge of secondary curriculum and standards-based instruction

• Knowledge of federal and state regarding students with special needs

• Ability to effectively use and integrate technology in the classroom setting
