The Eastchester Middle School is seeking a passionate and qualified candidate to join their team, specializing in teaching within an Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) setting. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with a co-teacher to deliver effective grade level instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, leveraging their strong background in science education and special education practices to ensure all students achieve their full potential. Under the general supervision of the school principal, the teacher, with dual certification in Science (7-12) and Special Education, will facilitate student success and growth in science instruction in grade 8 through implementing district-approved curriculum. This role includes documenting teaching and student progress, activities, and outcomes, addressing specific educational needs of individual students, creating a flexible, safe, and optimal learning environment, and providing feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.

Requirements:

• NYS certification: Dual certification required; Special Education/Science 7-12
• NYSED Fingerprint Clearance*

Employment Terms:

• 10 month, full-time position (1.0 FTE)

• Salary range in accordance with the Eastchester Teachers Association (ETA) negotiated salary schedule; $61,939 - $85,725, step placement contingent upon prior related experience.

• Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law §§305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES). The Commissioner of Education carries out these responsibilities through the New York State Education Department's Office of School Personnel Review and Accountability (OSPRA).
