We are seeking TWO dedicated and reliable Special Education Teachers
This position is for a contracted Special Education teacher who will play a crucial role in maintaining instructional continuity during the absence of regular Special Education teachers. The ideal candidate will be a passionate educator who can effectively manage various Special Education classroom environments while adhering to the curriculum and lesson plans provided.
The Special Education Dedicated Teacher will be assigned to either PHS or GHHS feeder pattern as their "home" assignment. The Special Education Dedicated Teacher is expected to report to work for all student days in the school year. Special Education Dedicated Teachers report to their assigned building and provide various forms of Special Education instructional support to an assignment.
The Special Education Dedicated Substitute Teacher assignment will be in effect for the duration of the current school year. This position generally does not research and compile information for IEP paperwork or attend IEP meetings; however, should a long-term assignment need to present itself, IEP completion will be required and the educator shall be compensated accordingly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Hold a valid Washington State Certificate with Special Education endorsement
Must have the ability to follow oral and written directions.
Have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and children.
Previous experience working in a Special Education classroom is desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment.
Positive attitude and dedication to supporting student learning.
JOB DUTIES:
Be scheduled on daily (Monday-Friday) substitute assignments.
Open to working in a different classroom or school location each day.
Follow through with scheduled assignments.
