Special Education Teacher, IEP Case Manager - Mild / Moderate

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of:

• State standards.

• Core curriculum.

• Special education regulations.

• A variety of instructional strategies appropriate for different disability types.

• Successful collaboration and co-teaching strategies.

Ability to:

• Provide special education assessments.

• Write legally compliant and educationally meaningful assessment reports.

• Work in a collaborative relationship with parents, and general and special education staff members.

• Develop and implement a functional behavior plan.

• Enter IEP info into SEIS forms

• Schedule, Monitor and regulate IEP timelines

• Provide ongoing feedback on IEP writing and management

• Attend all IEP meetings as Case Manager

• Coordinate and communicate with case managers regarding all specific IEP-related issues for students on their caseloads; edit and approve all IEPs.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

• Provides direct instructional support to students with special needs, individually and/or general classroom setting.

• Provides consultation to staff and parents of special needs students.

• Conducts assessments, develops IEPs and participates in IEP meetings.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
