Duxbury High School is seeking a dynamic and highly qualified Special Education Teacher to lead the High School Transitions Program.
Requirements:
Current certification from Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education with SEI Endorsement, Special Education Students w/ Severe Disabilities (All)
Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university
Previous experience with IEP development and data collection
Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with assistive technology and communication devices preferred
Experience with adult agencies (MRC, DDS), developing and implementing
Transition Plans, life skills curriculum and pre-employment transition services
Primary Functions:
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with general educators, related service professionals, and instructional assistants to provide specific interventions that enable students to successfully access the general education curriculum.
Consistently provide accommodations and appropriately modify curriculum per Individual Education Programs
Maintain consistent communication with parents, administration, and other team members.
Attend regularly scheduled meetings with the building principal, special education Team Chair and Director of Special Education.
Attend IEP meetings, develop IEP goals and benchmarks and provide progress reports for IEP goals concurrent with issuance of report cards.
Provide consultation to administration, general and special education teachers regarding students who have specific reading and written language disability.
Collaborate with related service providers
