Established in 1946, LeRoy Haynes Center has grown from a small operation serving just a handful of children into one of the largest and most comprehensive non-profit organizations of its kind, dedicated to helping children with special needs relating to emotional development, autism, Asperger's Disorder, learning disabilities, abuse, neglect and abandonment. Nestled against the backdrop of the San Gabriel Mountains, LeRoy Haynes Center's lush 21-acre campus is located in the city of La Verne at the east end of Los Angeles County.

We are currently seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher to teach students with along the Autism Spectrum. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for designing and implementing a multi-sensory individualized educational plan (IEP) for low and high functioning autistic children.

This year-round position is full-time and includes benefits. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Plan the development of clearly defined goals and objectives

Utilize effective teaching strategies

Provide a safe and structured classroom environment

Ability to apply functional behavior assessment to problem behavior

Ability to assess for skills and deficits

Institute a comprehensive team approach
