Under the direction of the Director of Special Education, support multiple special education programs such as: Program for the Visually Impaired; Program for students with Extensive Needs; and the Speech and Language Program. The position coordinates activities related to DIS Assistive Technology assessment, training, and assessment, equipment, and training for devices related to Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ACC) Dis services to access their Individual Education Programs (IEPs).
This position requires a credential which authorizes Special Day services such as an Education Specialist Credential with an authorization or certification in assistive technology and authorization in autism. The candidate must have an English Language Learner Authorization/CLAD and valid CPR & 1st Aid Certificates. Nonviolent Crisis Prevention Intervention (NCPI) certification and/or willingness to attend training.
