ACES is seeking dedicated special education teachers who want to make a difference in the lives of our students enrolled in our autism programs.
About the position:
Each classroom is co led by a certified Special Education Teacher and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This leadership team works collaboratively to develop student IEPs and programming using science-based instruction and the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA).
Academic, social, life skills, and behavior intervention programs that promote functional independence are the focus of programming.
Program implementation is delivered through a transdisciplinary team including Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Social Workers.
This is a 196 day position with an additional 18 days for Extended School Year (ESY) in July.
ACES teaching positions participate in the CT Teacher Retirement System.

Qualifications
Successful candidates must possess strong teaching qualities, care deeply for children and have good classroom management and interpersonal skills.
CT certification as a Special Education teacher (165) required.
Will consider candidates who are currently enrolled in a Special Education Teacher preparation program and are eligible for a Durational Shortage Area Permit (DSAP).
