Nevada County Superintendent of Schools is the County Office of Education for Western Nevada County, California. Nevada County Superintendent of Schools, Special Education Services Department team members are deeply committed to providing a meaningful and individualized educational experience to each of the students within our care. Through continuous reflection we aim to support the development of lifelong skills, helping each child develop academically, socially, emotionally, and as citizens of their classrooms and communities.

As we work to collaboratively implement each students' individualized learning plan, we enjoy doing so in a play-based and/or naturalistic manner, allowing each child and staff member autonomy and the change to show up in an authentic manner. The Special Education Secretary works closely with our department Principal to ensure that our systems run smoothly and efficiently, which in turns, allows our team of educators to focus their time and energy on delivering high-caliber services to the students in our care. Our Secretary and Principal enjoy a collaborative, respectful, and fun working relationship, in order to meet the department's varying goals.

Additionally, our Secretary works with our region's leading experts in essential Special Education practices, and enjoys being a part of a child-centered learning environments. We are looking for someone who a compassionate & empathetic person who enjoys working as a cohesive member of a team. Our idea candidate is flexible and calm as needs and priorities change throughout the day, but they are also detail and goal oriented.

Education and ExperienceAny combination of training and experience, which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:• Two (2) years of responsible work experience performing administrative detail, office or secretarial work.• Typing certificate of 40 words per minute (certificates from online typing test agency unacceptable)• Intermediate level desirable: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint
