Special Education

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Elementary Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students with diverse learning needs and creating inclusive classroom environments where every child can thrive. You would be working with one other Special Education Teacher and a team of Paraprofessionals. We are open to Provisional licensing!

St. Ignatius Schools are all P.B.I.S. "Platinum" Schools, “Rilla” Award and 7th Generation Award recipients with outstanding staff, students and leadership.  We are a best practice school district with many great programs and systems.  St. Ignatius is located at the base of the Mission Mountains with some of the best views in Montana in the heart of the Flathead Indian Reservation.  We are only 35 minutes from Missoula.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, in collaboration with other members of the special education team, including parents, administrators, and other teachers.

• Provide direct instruction to students in small group or one-on-one settings, adapting curriculum materials and teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.

• Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and assistive technologies to support student learning and engagement.

• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed to ensure academic growth and achievement.

• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote inclusive practices and facilitate the successful inclusion of students with disabilities in the general education classroom.

• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress, discuss concerns, and solicit input regarding student needs and goals.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, including assessment data, IEP goals, and anecdotal observations.

• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and enhance teaching skills.

PAY: D.O.E. $35,819-$58,765
