Special Education Math Teacher

Communicate appropriately and effectively with parents, staff, and students.

Conduct appropriate assessments to determine program eligibility and services and provide written reports of evaluations.

Select teaching strategies for implementing IEP goals and objectives for math.

Monitor and adjust teaching strategies to the students' changing needs.

Apply current special education practices and theories.

Develop and uses instructional materials suitable for verbal and/or visual instruction of students with wide-range of mental, physical, and emotional maturity

Provide individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs and motivate students.

Establish and maintains standards of student control required to achieve effective participation in all activities.

Evaluate academic and social growth of students and keeps appropriate records.

Provide appropriate instruction and activities for students to meet the School District's policies, goals, and objectives.

Communicate with parents through a variety to means. Holds parent conferences to discuss individual student's progress.

Identify student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students.

Create an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays such as bulletin boards, learning centers, etc.

Maintain professional competence through professional development education activities provided by the Norwood Public Schools and/or professional growth activities and university courses.

Participate cooperatively with the appropriate administrator to develop the method by which he/she will be evaluated in conformance with the School District guidelines.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
