Special Education Instructional Health Assistant (2024-2025) -Eastside Middle School

This position is for the 2024-2025 school year.

Eastside Middle is searching for a highly motivated and positive team member to assist a certified teacher in providing instruction to groups of students, monitor and report student progress, and enhance overall student performance. Experience working with students, intervention systems, and small groups are strongly desired.

These positions are for 6.25 hours per day and 170 student instructional days, 4 paid holidays, 7 planning days and 2 extended days for a total of 183 days per year. (Contracted days will be adjusted depending upon start date.)

• Must have 48 semester hours, an Associates Degree or have a high school diploma and have passed the paraeducator assessment exam. Must provide a copy to HR upon recommendation to hire.

Step 0: $15.59

Step 10: $19.19

New employees to the district may bring in up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience. (NOTE: It will be the responsibility of the applicant hired to submit the BCPS verification of experience form to their prior employer to complete and return to HR.)

This position is considered a ten month employee on the pay schedule. 4 paychecks will be paid at the end of June.

Formula to calculate salary

hours per day x hourly rate = daily rate

daily rate x contracted days = salary

salary / # of pays left = gross biweekly pay
