Instructional Aide
Position Overview:
The Academy is seeking a qualified Instructional Aide that will help level instruction and provide a high level of support for students who have diverse learning needs, particularly, those who have Individualized Education Plans (IEP's). The position is part time, 35 hours per week, but could be full time position if the candidate is interested in teaching in the after school program.

Essential Responsibilities:
Student Support:
Collaborates closely with special education teachers to provide students with IEPs academic, behavioral and social-emotional supports
Works with small groups of students in an instructional capacity
Tutors students, individually or in groups, to reinforce learning concepts
Monitors individual and groups of students in the classroom and/or during break and lunch activities to ensure a safe and positive learning environment
Assists in maintaining appropriate student behavior
Establishes and maintains a cooperative working relationship with staff members
Clerical:
Assists with clerical duties such as record keeping, filing, correcting papers and data collection
Assists special education teachers as required to support meeting student learning needs
Performs other related duties as assigned/required by teacher(s), site or district administrator(s)
Training and Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent, college degree preferred; some paid or volunteer experience working with children in any educational or child care setting; or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities.
