Are you a caring and compassionate individual looking to make a difference in the lives of children? MCCPS is currently hiring support professionals to join our dynamic inclusion team of collaborative educators.

MCCPS is seeking a special education inclusion teacher to work as part of an inclusion team of collaborative educators. As part of a grade-level teaching team, inclusion teachers ensure the delivery of student modifications and accommodations to ensure IEPs, 504s and other student needs are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Knows, understands, and communicates to the appropriate personnel the accommodations and modifications delineated in the IEPs of students.
Ensures that IEP accommodations and modifications are understood and followed by teachers and all personnel/volunteers.
Responds to teachers' inquiries regarding how to implement a student's IEP.
Collects data, monitors progress and writes quantitative progress reports specific to goals and benchmarks at the end of each trimester.
Facilitates communication between home and school for each student on caseload.
With grade level teachers, plans units/lessons and modifies tests/assignments as needed and incorporates accommodations.
Shares ideas with colleagues regarding best teaching practices for addressing different modalities and learning styles.
Co-teaches grade level classes as needed.
Works with small groups and individual students for previewing, reteaching, reinforcement, and spiraling back of curriculum concepts.
Is available to assist all students in the inclusion classroom.
Actively participates in Special Education Department meetings, Special Education consult meetings, grade level SST meetings, and faculty meetings.
Conducts comprehensive academic testing, writes comprehensive evaluation reports and presents and interprets findings at IEP eligibility meetings.
Participates in IEP meetings. Facilitates IEP meetings (i.e. Annual Reviews and Progress Updates) in agreement with the Director of Student Services.
Based on IEP Team meeting and collected data, writes measurable IEP goals for students on caseload.
Develop and implement student-driven Transition Planning Forms (TPFs) beginning at age 13
Informs the Director of Student Services of successes and challenges relating to the cooperative work of special and regular educators.
Protects parent and student confidentiality.
Performs other related duties as required, directed, or as the situation at the request of the Head of School.

Education, Certifications & Licensure:
Bachelor's degree in related field required.
Special education teaching license required.
