Provo Canyon School, a year round residential small setting private school, is seeking a special education coordinator to service student IEP's, coordinate and attend district IEP meetings, and collaborate with teachers and therapists on IEP goals and progress. A qualified candidate should be a certified secondary education teacher who holds a K-12 Special Education Mild/Moderate endorsement.

The school is seeking those with experience or a desire to work with emotionally distressed or at risk youth. The position will include three period of middle school history and the remaining periods for Sp. Ed. Coordinator responsibilities.

Job Requirements

Valid teaching certificate or proof of pending graduation from an accredited university; Mild to Moderate Special Education endorsement preferred; Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.

Basic skills desired in special education applicants include: classroom supervision and management, student observations, student progress monitoring, assessment, planning, organization, evaluation, time management and interpersonal work habits, professional collaboration with peers, ability to apply a variety of instructional methodology with special populations, sound written and oral communication, record keeping, decision-making, and problem-solving.
