Name of Position: District Clinical Supervisor
Department: Special Education
Reports To: Special Education Director/Assistant Director
Salary Range: $73,055 - $87,206
Qualifications:
LCSW, LCPC, MSW or Licensed Psychologist
Experience in public school preferred
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff and administrators
Possesses leadership ability
Valid Maine driver's license
Good organizational and management skills
Distinguishing Features of Work:
This is a professional position requiring the ability to supervise, evaluate, monitor, and coordinate services for students with mental health and behavioral/emotional needs. Strong communication and organizational skills are needed.
Responsibilities:
Provide supervision and consultation to the district-employed clinicians.
Oversee the implementation clinical IEP related services for students with Mental Health and Emotional Disabilities K-12. Maintain a spreadsheet shared with the Director/Assistant Director.
Oversee all referrals to special education counseling, assign for assessment, and track outcomes.
Collaborate with the Special Education Director and the IEP team when students with mental health/behavioral needs are being considered for more restrictive programming.
Act as liaison to the central office regarding programming and staff issues and decisions. Meet regularly with the special education director/assistant director.
Collaborate with the building administrators and coordinators re: mental health/behavior related services and staff issues and decisions.
Have direct input into the evaluation process with the supervising administrators.
Monitor counseling recommendations/referrals at the school and district level.
Monitor counseling services by employed clinicians and contracted providers.
Participate in screening interview applications and applicants for clinical staff.
Assist with hiring and supervision of clinical staff.
As needed, consult or coordinate with building administrators and clinicians re: referrals to hospitalization/crisis outreach, referrals to outside agencies, and assessment of students' mental health status.
Monitor, maintain and/or provide required training for staff of students with mental health/behavioral needs, as appropriate.
Collaborate with families as well as outside service providers as needed (i.e. case managers, psychiatrists, psychologists, community clinicians and DHHS workers) to evaluate student and family needs.
Disseminate information to staff, parents, and other agencies as needed.
Coordinate case review meetings as appropriate.
Participate in clinical supervision/consultation.
Participate in professional development workshops, seminars and conferences to maintain professional licensure.
Provide ongoing clinical education and training to staff about mental health diagnoses, behavioral strategies/techniques, and other related topics.
Coordinate district crisis support, as needed.
Perform any other duties appropriate to the job per central office administration.
