Under the immediate supervision of a Preschool teacher, performs instructional and other tasks supportive of the educational program and the teacher's efforts; performs basic clerical tasks and other related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION: Verification of a High School diploma, a GED certificate, or a higher degree.

Verification of 12 college semester units in early childhood education/development core classes. A minimum of 3 units within the area of infant/toddler is preferred.EXPERIENCE: Experience working in a preschool or child development classroom setting is desirable.

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: A current standard Pediatric Red Cross First Aid certificate and a current Pediatric CPR certificate are required at the time of employment and must be kept current as a condition of employment. A current Preventative Health Practices certificate is required at the time of employment or within the first six months of employment*. Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License.CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:

Insurability by the District's liability insurance carrier may be required.DISTRICT ASSESSMENT: Successful completion of the District's Instructional Assistant Proficiency Test (a rigorous assessment that demonstrates the knowledge of and ability to assist with instruction in reading, writing, and mathematics at a level meeting State and Federal requirements) is required.

DISTRICT ASSESSMENT: Qualified applicants will be invited to a testing session via email.

Test date and location will be determined after the application deadline. Qualified applicants will be provided the date, time, and location of the test via email. No late arrivals will be admitted.

A valid government issued picture identification card will be required to take the district assessment. All applicants that have taken the written examination titled "Instructional" for this position PRIOR to April 27, 2023 will be required to retest. If you attach a copy of your passing test results to your application but, in an effort to obtain a higher score, you choose to retest and your new score is lower, the higher passing score will remain on record for the life of this eligibility list.
